Battle of Athens State Historic Site — Campground

A quiet historic retreat offering riverside scenery, preserved buildings, hiking, picnicking, and camping opportunities along the Des Moines River. The site includes interpretation and tours of the battlefield where the northernmost battle fought west of the Mississippi occurred during the Civil War.
