Terms of Service

Effective June 6, 2026

Welcome to Campatible. These Terms govern your use of our website, applications, and notification service (the “Service”). Campatible is operated by the Campatible team (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What Campatible is

Campatible is a notification service only. We monitor publicly available campsite reservation systems on your behalf and send you an alert by email or SMS when a campsite matching your watch becomes available. We do not book reservations for you. Any booking happens entirely in the reservation system that the campsite belongs to, on your own device, with your own credentials.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Campatible. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.
  • You agree to give accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. Keep your password and your phone secure. Do not share your login.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Campatible, or any data or alerts received from Campatible, to build, operate, or support an automated booking tool, bot, or scalping service. Automated booking against third-party reservation systems may violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. §1030) and California Penal Code §502, as well as state laws targeting reservation scalping such as California AB-2293. You are solely responsible for how you use the alerts we send you.
  • Resell access to the Service, sublicense it, or use it to provide a competing service.
  • Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Service, except as expressly allowed by law.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach any security or authentication measure.
  • Use the Service to send unlawful, harassing, or infringing content, or to violate the rights of others.
  • Create accounts in bulk, evade rate limits, or otherwise interfere with the Service or other users.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Alerts and SMS

When you opt in to SMS alerts by providing your phone number, you consent to receive automated text messages from Campatible for account verification and campsite-opening alerts. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies with the watches you have set up. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving SMS, or HELP for help. Alerts are delivered on a best-effort basis. We rely on upstream reservation systems whose data can be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate, and on third-party email and SMS carriers. We do not guarantee that an alert will be delivered, delivered on time, or that an availability shown in an alert will still exist by the time you try to book it.

Subscriptions and billing

Browsing campgrounds and creating an account are free. To set up your first alert we ask for a card, which starts a 30-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your subscription continues at the monthly price shown when you add your card, unless you cancel first. Prices are in U.S. dollars and do not include any taxes, which we add where the law requires.

Free trial, then automatic renewal. When you add a card you authorize us, after the 30-day free trial, to charge your payment method the monthly subscription price shown to you at that time, and your subscription renews automatically for a new one-month term at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel during the trial to avoid any charge. If a charge fails, we may retry it and may pause your alerts until payment succeeds.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We use Stripe, Inc. to collect and process payments. You enter your card details directly with Stripe, and Stripe stores them — Campatible never receives or stores your full card number. Paying through Stripe is also subject to Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal, which you can open from your account settings. There is no cancellation fee. When you cancel, your subscription does not renew again, but your paid features stay active through the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not cut off access the moment you cancel. After that period ends, your alerts are paused until you resubscribe; we do not delete them, so resubscribing lets you switch them back on.

Refunds. Payments are charged in advance for each monthly period and are generally non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial months, for time you did not use, or when you cancel or downgrade mid-period — you keep access through the end of the paid period instead. If you were charged in error, or you believe you are entitled to a refund under the law that applies to you, email billing@campatible.app and we will work with you in good faith. Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have that cannot be waived under the consumer-protection laws of your state or country.

Price changes. We may change the subscription price. If we do, we will give you notice by email before the new price takes effect, and the change will apply only to renewals after that date, never retroactively. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

Fair use. A subscription lets you set up alerts for your own personal campsite searches. Alerts are subject to fair-use limits, and we may suspend or limit accounts that abuse the Service, place an unreasonable load on it, or use it in a way that harms other users or the reservation systems we monitor.

Intellectual property

Campatible, including its software, design, and content we create, belongs to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non- transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. The content you create on Campatible — your watches, your lists of facilities — belongs to you. By submitting it, you grant us the limited right to host and process it so that we can run the Service for you.

Third-party services

Campatible links to and surfaces data from third-party reservation systems (such as Recreation.gov and state park reservation portals). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of those operators. Your booking, your payment, and your stay are governed by the terms of the reservation operator you book through.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alerts will be timely or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Campatible and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) or the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Campatible against any third-party claim arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or expose us to legal risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the Northern District of California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
